Three days AGRIFEST 2017 “KAIROS” begins at SKUAST-Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 12: A three day AGRI-FEST “KAIROS” commenced in the Chatha campus of SKUAST, Jammu. The event is a three day festival comprising literary, cultural and sports events.
The programme is being conducted under the able chairmanship of Dr. D.P. Abrol, Dean Faculty of Agriculture.
The programme was inaugurated by Professor Pradeep K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor and Patron of Agri-Fest. who in his inaugural address appreciated the efforts of organising committee and the students in organizing the Agrifest as the whole event has been organized by the students. Professor Sharma emphasized that besides academics, such events are very necessary for the overall development of the student community and hoped that in the near future such more festivals will be organized in the university. On the first day of the fest, debate, painting, youth parliament, rangoli making, quiz and collage making were organized. Students from faculty of agriculture and faculty of basic sciences actively participated in the events.
In his address the chairman of the AGRIFEST Dr.D.P.Abrol informed the house that this is the first such festival being organized in the faculty of agriculture and assured the students for whole hearted support in such events and motivated students to actively participate in such events.
Dr. T.A.S.Ganie, Direc tor Education and Advisor of the Agrifest, Dr. Parshant Bakshi, Co-Chairman, Dr. Arvinder Singh, Organizing Secretary, Dr. Vinod Gupta, Press and Media Incharge, Dr. Lakshmi Kant Sharma, Manage ment Incharge and Mr. Ali Haider Shah, Co-organizing Secretary of the event also briefed about the Agrifest 2017. Dr. J.P. Sharma, Director Research, Dr. Dileep Kachroo, Registrar, Dr. Deepak Kher, Director Planning, Dr. V.K. Razdan, University Librarian and the scientific staff of SKUAST-Jammu were also present on this occasion.
