Haq reviews progress on CM’s commitments in RDD sector

Asks officials to complete all works within set timeframe

SRINAGAR, Dec 12: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq on Tuesday held a meeting with officers of Rural Development to review the progress on the works taken up on the directions and commitments of Chief Minister made during Public Durbars in various districts of the Kashmir Division.
Director Rural Development Department Kashmir Gazanfar, Hussain, ACDs of various districts, Executive Engineers, Block Development Officers of Various districts and other senior officers of the Rural Development Department were present in the meeting. During the meeting Minister was informed about various works taken up by the department on the directions of Chief Minister and commitments made during Public Durbars concerning the Rural Development Department. Director RDD informed the Minister that against the commitments made by the Chief Minister, 87 works were related to RDD and out which work has been started on 40 percent of the works. The Minister directed all the officers to accelerate the pace of work in order to complete the commitments, direction given by the Chief Minister during Public Durbars by the end of December 2017.
He asked all the officers to put in extra efforts for judicious and effective utilization of funds besides removing bottlenecks hindering developmental works. The Minister directed the officers to ensure expeditious execution of developmental works to extend desired benefits to the people. He also asked them for keeping a strict check over quality of works, adding that efforts should be made to create sustainable assets
catering to area-specific developmental needs.
