Zulfkar reviews progress on implementation of SCA to STP scheme

Asks for speedy execution of dev works in Cluster Model village

JAMMU, Feb 12: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Tribal Affairs, Choudhry Zulfkar Ali today reviewed the progress on Cluster Model Villages in the State through video conferencing with district administrations of Pulwama, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara and Kulgam. Taking review of various development works taken up under Cluster Model Villages in district Pulwama, it was informed that Rs 1.39 crore have been utilized for various works including development of Tribal Model Villages at Gulshanpora, Karmula Tral, development of milk villages at Sangerwani Pulwama and E-class rooms in district Pulwama up to ending January, 2018.
Discussing with the District Development Commissioner, Kulgam about the latest status of the works undertaken in Cluster Model Villages, the Minsiter was informed that Rs 7.87 crore have been incurred on construction of EMRs at Tangmarg in Kulgam, starting of Academic Activities, development of Tribal Model Village at Nagress Kulgam, E-Class rooms and construction of Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel at Kulgam. The District Development Commissi oner, Kupwara briefed the Minister about the progress of the works by the Tribal Affairs Depart ment in the district. He apprised that the directions given by the Minister have been implemented in letter and spirit. He informed the meeting that Rs 5.65 crore have been spent on various developmental works under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) scheme in the district up to January, 2018.
The Minister asked the concerned DDCs to expedite the pace of work on all ongoing development works under the scheme and complete them in a stipulated time frame. Among others, Commissioner Secretary, Tribal Affairs, Kifayat Rizvi, Director, Tribal Affairs, Mohammad Rafi, Special Secretary, Triabal Affairs, M S Choudhary, other senior officers of the Tribal Affairs Department were also present during video conference.
