Bootlegger arrested

JAMMU, Feb 14: In continuation to efforts of Police Sub Division Akhnoor against the illicit transportation/sale of the liquor in jurisdiction of Sub Division Akhnoor, today Akhnoor police apprehended one Pawan Singh S/o Anand Singh and recovered 60 pouches of JK Excise Liquor from his possession.
Police party of P/S Akhnoor headed by HC Sheetal Kumar during patrolling when reached at Devipur, one Pawan Singh S/o Anand Singh R/o Devipur on seeing the Police he tried to escape from spot.
But the alert police chased and intercepted him. On search of his belongings, Police party recovered 60 Pouches of JK Excise Liquor which he was carrying to earn illegitimate profit. In this regard a case FIR No. 22/2018 U/S under relevant sections of law has been registered at P/S Akhnoor and further investigation of case is going on. The arrest and recovery was made by Inspr.
