Traffic awareness campaign organized

JAMMU, Feb 14: In its continuous endeavor to curb the violation of traffic rules and spread the awareness among the people, Traffic Rural Jammu cracked down on the traffic rule violators and a large number of private/ commercial vehicles were challaned and seized. The Traffic team challaned 240 vehicles and seized 12 vehicles for various offences. During the crackdown, the people were also counselled and asked to follow traffic rules for their own safety. Besides, Shaheen Wahid, Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Jammu held traffic awareness campaign among the students of in Government Higher Secondary School Rajpura, Govt Middle School Randhwal and Government Higher Secon dary School Vijaypur wherein importance of following traffic rules and road safety was imbibed among the students. Demonstrations of wearing seat belt and helmet were also given.
In the interactive sessions the students pledged to follow and spread the importance of following traffic rules. Later they were also presented with participation certificates. DySP Traffic Samba-Kathua Behari Lal and DTI Samba Ins Tarsem Lal were also present.
