Army flags off capacity building tour for students

Udhampur, Feb 14: Thirteen students and two teachers from Kalakote area of Rajouri District were flagged off as part of a capacity building tour to Chandigarh, Delhi and Dehradun. The 11 days army sponsored tour also includes visit to various historical and tourist places along with select educational institutions of repute. The tour is aimed to give participants an exposure of the vast but diverse culture of our country as well as give an insight into the plethora of educational and employment opportunities outside the state of Jammu and Kashmir.The tour was flagged off amidst cheers and excitement. Various civil dignitaries and eminent members of civil administration were present for the occasion.
This tour will provide the youth an opportunity to witness the immense development in other parts of the country and learn as well as implement the ideas in the home state. During the flagging off ceremony, one of the participant expressed his appreciation for the Indian Army and said, "This is a golden opportunity for us, belonging to remote and isolated areas, to know more about our great country, which otherwise would have remained a distant dream for most of us". It is envisaged that this tour will boost the self confidence of the students and give them the much needed exposure to brighter way of life.
