Torture, murder of Jammu youths in outside states goes un-addressed: Harsh

Jammu, Feb 14: Accusing the State government of adopting two different yardsticks in responding to the victimization of youth in outside states who hailed from Jammu Pradesh and Kashmir valley respectively, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today lambasted the BJP Ministers and MLAs for their failure to protect the lives and liberties of Dogra youth working outside state Accusing the BJP partnered govt of being ignorant to take cognizance of the victims from Jammu region who were tortured, murdered or went missing in other parts of the country.
Mr. Singh called upon mandated leaders of Jammu to explain their criminal silence over the issue in Assembly.
Pointing towards the hostile disregard of Jammu youth, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that there was a continuous ruckus in the State Assembly over the manhandling and assault on the two students hailing from Kashmir by a mob in Haryana a couple of days ago. He said that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had personally taken up the matter with her Haryana counterpart Mr. M.L Khattar which was followed by the interaction between DGP Jammu and DGP Haryana.
The former even confirmed that a case had been registered and a SIT had been set up under the IGP Haryana to probe the incident, Harsh added. While hailing the prompt response from the State government in addressing the victimization of the said students in Haryana, Mr. Singh took a serious note of the prejudiced and ignorant behaviour of the dispensation in initiating a similar probe into the cases pertaining to the youth of Jammu province who were tortured, murdered or went missing in other states.
