Shilpa Shinde on Dhan Dhana Dhan: I would love to have Salman Khan on the show

16/04/2018

Dressed in a pastel blue saree with floral motifs border and gold work, Shilpa Shinde looks like a vision. The Bigg Boss 11 winner has teamed it with a halter blouse, danglers and statement rings. She is in a hurry but greets you with a warm smile. Shilpa rather sweetly requests you to make it fast as she touches up the blush on her cheeks. We can see that she is quite a pro at makeup. I ask her if she is an avid cricket enthusiast, she replies laughing, “I like cricketers.” The lady is back as Googly on Dhan Dhana Dhan that will air on Colors at 11pm and on the Jio Application. Shilpa is thrilled to be associating with Preeti Simoes team and Sunil Grover for the show. “IPL is like a festival in India. Working on this concept is a different experience. I am collaborating with a nice team and it is a great honour to work with Sunil Grover. I am learning a lot from him and it’s tough to match his comic timing. We have Suresh Menon also, whom I have admired from a long time. I am happy to be sharing screen space with them.”
Elaborating on the characters, she says, “We play husband and wife. He is a professor, a very simple sober bhondu type of character. They respect each other a lot. He has little knowledge of cricket but his wife is crazy about the game. They are quite lovey-dovey too (laughs).” The lady has been looking gorgeous of late but staunchly denied doing anything extra to look slimmer and sexier. “After seeing me, people started to believe that even housework can make someone lose weight. Even those who hated household chores took it up. I practise yoga on a regular basis and indulge myself within limits. I am a simple person.” Like every Indian, Shilpa is also a Sachin Tendulkar fan.
However, she is fond of quite a few India greats. “I always liked Anil Kumble. He looks so manly and has the aura of refinement around him. I would like to go out for coffee with Ajay Jadeja. I have always been fond of him like so many Indian women. I admire Dhoni for his cricketing brain,” she opines. Life has taken a 360 degree turn for Shilpa post her win in Bigg Boss 11. “People’s perception have changed. People have related to me straight from the heart. I am surprised to see how my fans defend me on Twitter every time. As artistes, we are emotional people. I see a lot of genuine love for me, from women and girls.
The send such lovely letters. It is a different high. People asked me why I did not win any awards, I feel this is my greatest trophy,” says an emotional Shilpa. Lastly, would she like to have Salman Khan on her show? “Of course, he is a great human being. He is very genuine and real. I am not saying this because he always took my side on BB11 but he is a very straightforward one. People understood that our personalities are similar, we always do seedhi baat,” she signs off.
