SKUAST-Jammu organises one day Veterinary Clinical Camp

JAMMU, Apr 17: As an initiative to improve the livestock health and productivity, a one day veterinary clinical camp were organised at villages: Nanetar, Palai and Chanorri of Samba District of Jammu and Kashmir. The camp was organised by the Divison of Agroforestry under the aegis of All India Co-ordinator Research Project on Agroforestry under the tribal sub-plan component. A team of specialist from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, R.S. Pura, SKUAST-Jammu comprising of Dr. Abha Tikoo, Asstt. Prof., Veteri nary Medicine, Dr. Sharad Kumar Asstt. Prof., Veterinary Gynecology, Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Asstt. Prof., Veterinary Surgery and Dr. Rouff Ahmed, Ph. D Scholar carried out the on spot diagnosis of the problems of livestock such as infertility, animal parasite and animal nutrition. Around 80 animals including Cattle, Buffaloes, Sheep and Goat were treated during the camp.
The camp was attended by around 40 farmers. Free medicines were also distributed to the beneficiaries. The farmers were also given the knowhow about the common diseases, their management and maintaining the general health and hygiene of the animals. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. S. K. Gupta, OIC, AICRP on Agroforestry.
