DPS Jammu celebrates International Heritage Day

Jammu, Apr 18: Delhi Public School, Jammu organized Inter-House Panel Discussion on the topic "Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Tourism" on the occasion of International Heritage Day.
The five houses represented five important segments of the society :viz: Govt. of India, UNESCO, Members of ASI, Citizens of India and Royal Families of India. Three students from each of the 5 houses participated with great enthusiasm and zeal.
They voiced their concern and opinions on how different departments can play positive role in preserving the cultural heritage and promoting tourism. The departments also brought forward the problems and challenges faced by them and suggested obtainable solutions.
The panel discussion comprised of 5 rounds: Introduction, Discussion on Current Challenging Issues, Solutions to immediate problems, Sustainability of Tourism and Take away from discussion. The event was judged by Mr. Ravi Kotroo, Dy. Head Master and Ms. Preeti Abrol, Coordinator. Chenab House stood first, whereas Jhelum and Yamuna House stood second and third, respectively. This whole event was moderated by Ms. Neha Mahajan, Ms. Aditi Sharma and Mr. Jaswinder Singh.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, appreciated the efforts of the students and staff and encouraged them to participate actively in preserving our cultural and Heritage as not only they are the distinct marks of the country's identity but also impact its economy and popularity.
