Agriculture Department organises awareness camps

Jammu, Apr 18: Department of Agriculture Zone Bhalwal distributed Soil Health Cards at Village Nandwal Pyt Ghaink Zone Bhalwal and also awared the farmers about various centrally sponsored schemes like Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), Pradan Mantri Sinchai Yojna (PMSY), at Panchayats of Ghaink, Ranjan, Jandial, and Showa. The farmers were also made aware about the importance of maintaining Soil Health, Organic farming and establishing Vermipits/Vermicompost Units.
The awareness camp was organised under "Gram Swaraj Abhiyan" The Union Government Special initiative", an high-intensity outreach programme to deliver welfare schemes to which need particular attention.
It was launched on the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti (14th April). The objective of abhiyan is to promote social harmony, reach out to poor rural households, obtain feedback on ongoing programmes, enrol in new initiative focus on doubling farmers' income, enhance livelihood opportunities and re-emphasize national priorities such as cleanliness and strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions. The camps were organized on the directions of Director Agriculture H.K. Razdan, Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu N.K. Dubey & SDAO Marh R S Jamwal. The officers /officials present were S. Amrik Singh JAEO, Jaswinder Singh AEA. Sarvjeet Singh AEA, Anil Gupta AEA, Vishal Manhas, AEA and Avika Suri AEA.
