YCET organizes faculty development programme

JAMMU, Jun 5: Depart ment of Applied Sciences Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology organized faculty development programme on ICT techniques. Dr. Yash Paul Sharma, Professor, Depart ment of Information & Communication technology, Central institute of Communicational technology, New Delhi was the resource person. All the faculty members of different departments participated in this programme.
Dr. Arvind Dewangan, Director YCET formally welcomed the guest speaker. This programme aimed at equipping teachers with skills and knowledge to promote the professional development and to foster a climate for innovation in teaching and learning.
He made the staff familiar with the new initiatives taken by the central government like Sway am prabha, e-pathshala, kishore manch, National Repository of Open Educational Resou rces (NROER) developed by CIET, NCERT.
It was launched during the National Conference on ICT (Information and Communication Techn ology). NROER is a collaborative platform, intend to reach the un-reached. He also stressed upon Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) that are free online courses available for anyone to enroll.
MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, advance your career and deliver quality educational experiences at scale. He stressed upon the fact that in the present scenario Information & Commu nication Technology (ICT) especially internet in the education sector plays an important role mainly in the process of empowering the technology into
educational activities. Dr. Arvind Devangan congratulated Mr. Rakesh Verma, HOD Applied Sciences for his efforts and staff members for actively participating in the programme. Vote of thanks was given by Ms Arti Tickoo, Lecturer in Communication Skills.
