“Special Smiles Program’ organized at Tiger Asha School

Jammu, Aug 14: On the eve of Independence Day. an oral hygiene camp under "Special Smiles Programme" for Special Children of Tiger ASHA School, Satwari Cantt, Jammu was inaugurated by Mrs Rita Singh, Chairman, Family Welfare Organisation, Tiger Division today.
The Special Smiles Programme was organised on the occasion of 'Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day' and '50 years of Special Olympics'. It was organised by Indian Dental Association, Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College & Hospital, Jammu and Special Olympic Bharat (J&K). Dr. DR Kapoor, Retd Municipal Commissioner & Chairman Sahyog India and Dr. GR Bhagat, Retd Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman of Sahyog India also graced the occasion.
The event started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest Mrs. Rita Singh alongwith special children and dignitaries. On the occasion, she addressed the audience followed by Dr. Ashwini Jojira, President, Special Olympic Bharat (J&K), Dr. Romesh Singh, Principal, Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College & Hospital, Jammu and Arjuna awardee Ms Rupali Patel Singh. A team of six doctors and nine supporting staff took part in the camp for checking up oral hygiene of 62 students of ASHA School.
The camp was assisted by dedicated doctors from India Dental Association-Jammu Chapter under leadership of Dr. Sahul Lerra and Mr. Sumit Gandotra, Oral Care Consultant from Colgate Palmolive.
The chief guest applauded the medical team and organisers for the efforts put in to make the event successful. She also assured to provide wholehearted support for this humanitarian cause for special children.
At the end of the camp, The doctors and supporting staff were felicitated by Mrs Poonam Pangotra, Principal ASHA School Satwari Cantt, Jammu on behalf of Maj Gen Sanjay Singh, General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division.
