Kavinder, Ganga visit Atal’s residence

NEW DELHI, Aug 19: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar was in Delhi to pay the homage to Former Prime Minister of India Bharat Ratan Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who breathed his last on 16th August. Kavinder Gupta along with former Minister and MLA Vijaypur, Chander Prakash Ganga also visited the Residence of Atal ji to condole the family members of the departed soul.
He shared the moments of the past with the family members as Gupta has worked for a long period with Atal ji in Jammu and Kashmir. He marks the demise of Atal ji as "the end of an era". He lived for the nation and served it assiduously for decades.Vajpayee ji stood among the tallest leaders of modern India, who spent his whole life serving our great country. His services to our nation will be remembered for a long time to come.
Gupta further said that, Vajpayee ji, from the day he became Prime Minister, a resolution for Kashmir and forging a peaceful relationship with Pakistan remained at the centre of his efforts. His vision for Kashmir of Insaniyat, Jamhuriyat and Kashmiriyat was appreciated by everyone from the country and the people of the state .Today, when the situation is very bad in Kashmir, Kashmiris miss him more than anybody else. Atalji's biggest contribution was that he gave hope to Kashmiris. He understood that Kashmiris resent defeat more than anything elseshall be remembered by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, for his vision for the With the historic inauguration of the Delhi-Lahore bus service in February 1999, Vajpayee initiated a new peace process aimed towards permanently resolving the Kashmir dispute and other conflicts with Pakistan.
Chander Prakash Ganga while condoling said that Atalji's engagement on Kashmir dates back to 1953.
It was Vajpayee ji who accompanied Bharatiya Jan Sangh founder Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee to Kashmir. Vajpayee ji was at Mookerjee's side when he went on a fast-unto-death in Kashmir, protesting against the system of carrying a permit for entering the state and the "inferior" treatment of Indian citizens visiting Kashmir.
