KAHARA, OCT 16: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today conducted extensive tour of Jakyas, Batyas, Hanoo, Bathri, Kahara, Kencha, Bagdeyr, Nagni, Gugara areas and met with dozens of deputations and listened their grievances.
Saroori asked people to play a decisive role in the Panchayat elections. Attacking both the National Conference (NC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he asked people to not only show the door to those who have traded Jammu and Kashmir's interests for power, but also to give a befitting reply to the divisive elements who are out to polarise people on religious and ethnic lines.
"We hope people will judge us on our performance and on the basis of our political, economic and developmental reforms and give us a clear mandate in the Panchayat elections," Saroori said and termed the power to vote as the game-changer in a democratic set-up. He added: "Our voice will be heard with respect and reason not only in New Delhi but all across the country and beyond if Congress is handed down a clear mandate."
Saroori said the Congress has left an indelible mark on the political history of the Jammu and Kashmir through its pro-people and visionary agenda, and that it was because of the party's 0vision and performance that PDP veterans like Vikram Aditya, BJP veterans and others have reposed their faith in the Congress leadership, believing it is the only party that can end the uncertainties and economic deprivation in the state.
