CRPF remembers its martyrs

JAMMU, Oct 17: As is known to all of us that Police Forces celebrate "Police Commemoration Day" on 21 October every year. It is celebrated in the memory of those CFPF personnel who laid down their lives on 21 Oct 1959 in Hot Spring area Ladakh region when Chinese army attacked CRPF troops. On this day, Police Forces of all states, Paramilitary Forces and other security agencies remember their martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the year. In this context, 166 Bn. CRPF remembered martyr Constable Rampal Sharma, who sacrifice his life on 03 December 2004 while fighting terrorists in Sopore area of Baramulla district in Jammu & Kashmir. A programme was organized by unit in individuals school Govt. Higher Secondary School, Gajansoo, Jammu in which students were appealed to serve the nation and performed their duties with honesty and integrity. Children of the school participated in the program enthusiastically. CRPF appreciated the cooperation provided by the principal of the school Shri Satish Kumar for organizing the function. On the occasion Shri Shakti Singh, Second-In-Command, 166 Bn. CRPF honored the wife of the martyr viz. Smt. Anju Sharma and her children. Shri Shakti Singh said that CRPF always remembers the martyrdom of its martyrs and their sacrifices encourage us and strengthens our commitments towards national service. On the occasion, Shakti Singh familiarized the people present there about the courage and personality of the martyr Constable Rampal Sharma.
