NYK Kargil organizes Swacchta awareness programme, rally

KARGIL, OCT 20: Under Swachh Sankalp Se Sw achh Siddi campaign, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kargil today organized an awareness programme Mahatma Gandhi Yuva Swachhta Maha Abhiyan evam ShramdaanKaryakram at Language Centre here today.The programme which was organized with the objective to mobilize and motivate the youth for ensuring their proactive engagement in Swachta activities, witnessed attendance of NYK and NSS volunteers, district officers, teachers and a large number of students from Governm ent Degree College Kargil as well as Government and private educational institutions. Deputy Superint endent of Police HQR Kargil Syed Mujahidul Haq was the chief guest on the occasion while as the District Youth Coordinator NYK Kargil Tajamul Ara was the guest of honour.Speaking on the occasion the speakers while highlighting the mandate of the Swachh Bharat Activities urged upon the youth to work with missionary zeal, volunteerism and cooperation for creating clean, dirt free, filth free, hygienic and green surroundings to ensure a healthy and prosperous society.Meanwhile, the participants also took an oath to work with the spirit of volunteerism and dedicate 100 hours in a year for carrying out cleanliness activities. Later to create awareness about need and importance of Swachhta, students took out a rally which after passing through the main market of Kargil town culminated at Language Center Kargil. Students were holding placards and banners depicting the messages stressing people on maintaining clean environment.
