BJP holds seminar on “International Human Rights Day”

Jammu, Dec 9: On the eve of 70th International Human Rights Day, BJP Human Rights Cell, J&K organized a Seminar on "Human Rights and our Priorities" at BJP Headquarter, Jammu.
The programme was especially graced with the esteemed presence of BJP state President Ravinder Raina, Union MoS PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, Brigadier Anil Gupta, Ashwani Charangoo, BJP State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, state general secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, former Dy. Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, MLC Ramesh Arora and Dy. Mayor JMC Purnima Sharma.
Ravinder Raina State President BJP, lambasted the anti-national elements and so called human rights activists who surface only for the protection of human rights of anti-nationals and go into slumber as and when the human rights of a soldier are brazenly violated. He added that the terrorists have no human rights whatsoever and the value of Human Rights must be considered for the brave security forces who give their duty for the love of motherland without any thought for a second.
Dr. Jitender Singh dwelled at length about the adherence to human rights by India since Vedic times and explained the historical perspective of the human rights within the State of J&K. He said that the protection and safeguard of human rights has been fundamental concept of the BJP and continues with the same spirit under the dynamic leadership of PM Modi and he further said that the concept of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" is a living example of the protection of the Human Rights of every Indian Citizen.
Brig. Anil Gupta stated that the terrorists have no human rights and the human rights of Indian Soldier needs to be protected at all costs for which AFSPA came into existence. He proudly stated that the Indian Army is the best trained and disciplined Army in the World owing to which the United nations seek the services of Indian peace keeping forces in the turmoil hit countries across the globe. He emphasized that more hue and cry is raised by so called human rights activists upon the alleged acts human rights violations of the Army within the state, but the truth being that the Indian Army is taking into consideration all aspects to protect the lives of the innocents. Ashwani Kumar Charangoo, highlighted the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits and similar other atrocities committed upon the minorities of the state as grave human rights violations, but without any takers. He also apprised the gathering about the taking up of these human rights violation cases with State. Varinder Jeet, State Incharge BJP All Cells, spoke about the human rights violations during the 1984 Sikh riots and also presented the Vote of Thanks. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Adv. Hunar Gupta, State Convenor, BJP Human Rights Cell, J&K, stressed on the importance for the celebration of Intern-ational Human Rights Day and said that today is the Human Rights Defender's day. He said that the Western word should stop preaching Indians on the issue of Human Rights as India has been following human values since Vedic Times with the utmost devotion.
State executive members BJP Human Rights Cell Adv. Rohit Bhagat, Adv. Yuraj Bushan, Adv. Manoj Bhat, Adv. Kapil Mahajan, Adv. Pulkit Chrangoo, Adv. Jyoti Misra and others were amongst the prominent persons present on the occasion. Programme proceedings were conducted by State Co-Convenor of Cell, Adv. Vageesh Gupta Bharti.
