Mayor discuss JMC issues with Chief Secretary

JAMMU, DEC 12: To sort out the various burning issues of Jammu Municipal Corporation i.e shortage of staff, regularization of contractual employees, reorganization of department, Mayor, JMC Sh Chander Mohan Gupta today called on Chief Secretary, J&K Shri. B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, IAS here today. During the meeting Mayor raised various other issues like framing of policy for rehabilitation of street vendors, Allotment/transfer of Municipal Assets/properties & their proper demarcation & engagement of field staff & Safaikaramchari in the newly included areas of JMC. In the absence of requisite staff motive behind the Swacch, Jammu cannot be fulfilled, "in this regard we have to seek the support of Government" said Mayor Sh Chander Mohan Gupta. The Chief Secretary, J&K assured that the Government is in full support for the smooth functioning of the Jammu Municipal Corporation and will try his best that their issues should be addressed at an earliest.
Earlier, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta also toured in the areas of Prem Nagar, Christian colony residency road etc of ward no. 7 with the concerned councilor of the ward and took stock of various issues raised by the general public i.e proper sanitation, repair of lane and drains, repair of street lights etc and instructed the concerned officers to addresses the grievances on spot.
