Punjab, Delhi lead in Santosh Trophy

JAMMU, Feb 14: With two wins out of as many games, Punjab and Delhi were leading with six points each in group-A and group-B respectively with one game remaining for both teams in the ongoing 73rd Senior National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy (North Zone qualifying round) at SMVDSB Sports Stadium, Katra in district Reasi.
As per the reports reaching here, Delhi shall be playing against Uttrakhand in group-B tie tomorrow at 10 am. And, as the previous results indicate, Delhi have better prospects against the young side of Uttrakhand.
In other scheduled match for tomorrow, J&K, which has one win to their credit, shall take on formidable Chandigarh at 1 pm.
Earlier, in today's group-A matches, Punjab defeated Himachal Pradesh by a solitary goal to secure all three points. The all important goal came in the 37th minute through a penalty taken by Harpal.
In another scheduled match of the day, Haryana held Uttar Pradesh to a goalless draw. No side could scored a goal in the given time thus shared the points between them.
As per fixture Delhi will take on Uttrakhand at 10am and J&K will lock horns with Chandigarh at 1pm tomorrow. FIXTURE: Delhi meets Uttrakhand a 10 am while J&K shall be playing against Chandigarh at 1 pm tomorrow.
