Capacity building tour for Sarpanchs held

JAMMU, FEB 19: Capacity Building Tour comprising of 20 Sarpanches/ESM from Rajouri and Poonch Districts of J&K to Pune, Chennai, Pondicherry and New Delhi is being organised from 13 Feb to 01 Mar 2019.
During the first leg of the Tour, the group has visited the model villages of Hiware Bazar and Ralegaon Siddhi and witnessed the implementation of self-governance concept through Panchayati Raj.
During the leg participants have gained immense knowledge about water conservation techniques, self-reliant agriculture and medical care system. Workshops on education centre optimisation, job creation, hygiene, sanitation, fruitful utilisation of Govt funds and welfare schemes were also conducted. The main focus of these workshops was right use of technology to leap frog to latest ideas, skill development to generate self-employment and Rural Entrepreneurship to help them become job creators instead of job seekers. Participants were also told about the importance of inspiring leaders at grass-root level whose commitment and tenacity is often central to overcome all challenges and rally the community on the path of transformative development. The idea of quality of execution was harped upon wherein several factors like deep local knowledge, trust of the people, technical skills and integrated eco-system approach assume importance.
The CBT team was privileged to have a detail and in-depth interaction with Mr Popat Rao Pawar, Sarpanch, Hiware Bazar, who is known all around the world for his hard work in the field of Water Conservation and has dedicated his whole life for transforming 'Hiware Bazar' into the best village in whole country. Shri Popat Rao Pawar also felicitated the complete team and briefed them about various initiatives required to be undertaken for development of an ideal village.
