Billawaria conducts tour of city areas

JAMMU, JUNE 21: Baldev Singh Billawaria, Chairman Public Health & Sanitation Committee Jammu conducted a tour of city areas alongwith Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Magotra, Joint Commissioner Pardeep Manhas, Health Officer M.S. Khan and CTO Talat Mehmood and inspected cleanliness & sanitation in Gandhi Nagar Constituency. He viewed throwing of waste material on roadside by residents seriously and appealed them to desist from doing so.
N He said that Jammu Municipal Corporation has deployed sufficient staff to collect door to door waste and it is only in the fitness of the things that nothing should be thrown outside. Billawaria directed JMC authorities accompanying him on tour to ensure timely lifting of garbage dumped on roads at regular and frequent intervals. He advised officers that in view of upcoming Amarnath yatra it should be the endeavor of Jammu Municipal Corporation to toile hard for proper cleanliness of city areas. Billawaria asked Municipal authorities to install proper lights in vulnerable areas of the city to avoid any untoward incident due to darkness. He said the impression that pilgrims and tourists carry with them about Jammu should be a positive one and no outsider should feel bad about cleanliness in Jammu. He appealed all Jammuites to accord traditional welcome to pilgrims with all round cleanliness, hospitality and good behavior.
