Army organised Kaumi Ekta meeting at Chas

JAMMU, JUNE 22: With a view to foster and reinforce the spirit of communal harmony, Indian Army organised Kaumi Ekta Meeting at Chas, Kishtwar to promote peace and tranquility.
Unity in diversity has been one of the greatest characteristics of our nation which has bound people of all religions together in one bond of humanity.
The event provided a great platform to the local populace to interact with each other & Army officials and discuss issues of development in the region. A total of 47 locals attended the meeting.
The local populace and community leaders lauded the initiative and expressed hope that such initiatives by Army will give a fillip to communal harmony in the region and this occasion provides an opportunity to reaffirm age old traditions and faith in the values of tolerance, co-existence and brotherhood in a multi-cultural and multi-religious society.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch of the village Chas said that such meetings not only enhance the bonding between Army and Awaam but also boost the morale in maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
