JKPS girls shines in CBSE north zone basketball Championship

JAMMU, Oct 14: Participation is of more important than winning the championship. Keeping this in mind JK Public School, Kunjwani, Jammu always motivates its students to take part in District, State and National level tournaments. In the CBSE North Zone Basketball Championship held from 9-12 Oct 2019 at C.T Public School Jalandhar Punjab, team JKPS Girls (U-19) brought laurels to the school and their parents by winning Third Place and Bronze Medal.
The winners are Ravroop Kour, Areeba, Mrinalini Singh, Shagun Lalotra, Diva Singh, Misthi Baru, Jasmine, Pariman Aulakh, Shagun Rajput, Sana Sanjeev, Nupur Chaudhary and Harleen Kour. The students were also awarded with certificate of participation. Almost 82 teams from Panchkula (Haryana), Amritsar, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Moga, Ludhiana, Pathankot and Jammu & Kashmir participated in this championship. It was an exciting three days event in which sports skills of the teams from top notched CBSE schools from North Zone were exhibited. The entire tournament was extremely intense as all the teams desperately battled for the top positions. Team JKPS played with full determination and given a tough competition to the opposite teams from the very beginning.
The School Management, the JKPS Director, Ms Shashi Chaudhary and Principal JKPS Ms Vandana Sharma congratulated the winners for such outstanding performance and felicitated them in the school assembly. The school Principal also appreciated the school coach Mr Manoj Kumar Solank and HOD (Sports) Mr Subash Chander for training the students for such a high level competitions.
