Sharma for speeding dev activities, making new projections

SRINAGAR, OCT 14: Advisor to Governor, K.K. Sharma, today directed speeding up the developmental activities being undertaken by various departments for creating viable infrastructure besides ensuring implementation of various centrally-sponsored schemes.
The Advisor was speaking at a review meeting convened to discuss the status of implementation of various developmental programmes and also to make projections about the new ones.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Science and Technology Bipul Pathak, Commissioner Secretary PHE, Ajit Sahu and other senior officers of R&B, PHE, UEED, Housing & Urban, Finance and PDD departments.
The Advisor directed the officers for undertaking coordinated efforts for fasting pacing the developmental initiatives in the vital sectors of PHE, PDD, R&B so that people get benefitted from these and the developmental landscape of J&K gets augmented. He said that the timelines set should be maintained so that the cost escalation and other related factors can be minimized.
While asking the officers to make projections for various new initiatives to be undertaken, the Advisor said the same should be done within the shortest possible time so that the necessary action can be initiated and sent to Union Government for requisite budgetary support and related things.
The Advisor also reviewed the status of various centrally sponsored schemes being undertaken in different sectors like PDD, PHE, R&B, Housing and Urban Development, UEED and Science & Technology and directed for timely completion of these so that new projections can made. He said that the officers should also be abreast with the developmental needs on the ground level so that the schemes which are in consonance with the needs can be formulated.
