Five days long youth festival 'Sangam 2019-20' concludes at Bhadarwah Campus

Bhadarwah Oct 15 : The 5-day Youth Festival 'SANGAM 2019-20' concluded with the multi dimensional cultural bonanza and distribution of prizes among the winners and participants on the final day of the mega event, here.
The SANGAM 2019-20, with the tag line of 'Let's Build Our Nation' was organized by Bhadarwah Campus in collaboration with Rastryia Rifles based at Bhadarwah, to promote everlasting peace and prosperity in the Chenab Valley and to also give youth of all the three regions of the state, a platform and exposure to showcase their skills in different fields.
The Closing Ceremony of the mega event was held in the premises of Bhadarwah Campus, where Prof Rajni Dhingra Dean Reaserch Sciences was the chief guest, while Prof Rajni Kant Sinha, Director Directorate of Distance Education was the guest of honour.
The Mega event witnessed participation of 1286 students and teachers from 32 Colleges and all the off-site Campuses of Jammu University, hence becoming the first University Campus of the state where the students from 32 colleges and all the campuses participated.
It is notable that the 'SANGAM 2019 -20' was inaugurated by GOC Northern Command Lt. Gen Ranbir Singh on October 11, in presence of a large number of Civil and Military dignitaries and Principals, teachers and students from participating campuses, colleges and Schools.
The highlight of the event was mesmerizing solo dance performances by Diksha of Bhadarwah Campus and group dance by the students of Degree College Kishtwar.
The overall runners-up trophy was bagged by Govt Degree College Doda who secured 422 points while Jammu University lifted the coveted Sangam trophy with 491 points.
The Closing Ceremony ended with prize distribution to all the students, including winners and runners-up teams, beside all participating players by the chief guest Dean research studies Jammu University, Prof Rajni Dhingra along with other dignitaries.
Special prize as a token of love and appreciation for her outstanding performance was given to local girl Shalini Kotwal who represented Jammu and Kashmir in Kho-Kho at National level.
Prof Rajni Dhingra, in her address stressed on empowerment of youth and appreciated the role of Army. "Youth are for nation building and we are indebted to 4-Rashtriya Rifles and Bhadarwah Campus, University of Jammu for taking this initiative of bringing together the young minds of the State. Such endeavors inculcate the sense of discipline, self-confidence, dedication, responsibility, vision and most importantly patriotism among the youth leading to a strong nation building."
