NCC cadets visit aviation squadron, witness dog show

Jammu, Oct 16: The fifth day of 12 days long Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat Camp started with the Sharmdaan by cadets A cleanliness drive was undertaken by cadets where they cleaned the camping site and its premises. 200 Senior Wing girls and Senior Division boys visited Aviation Squadron while the balance 300 cadets attended a Lecture on Drug Awareness.
The lecture was taken by Associate NCC Officer, GCW Gandhinagar followed by a short movie on the ill effects of drugs. Later a motivational lecture was taken by Dr Sapna Sangra, Assistant Professor in Sociology, University of Jammu and State Chair-person of SPICMACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth). She told the cadets that consistent effort is the key to success.
She added that the experiences gained in student life plays a vital role in one's life, so one should never miss an opportunity.
The cadets also enjoyed the dog show which conducted by 29 Army Dog Unit at camping site. During the show the trainer displayed how dogs are used for tracking, sniffing and for combat purposes. In the evening Inter Directorate Volleyball Match took place which was won by Jammu and Kashmir Directorate for SD and SW. Both Jammu Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh directorate also gave Nati-onal Integration Awareness Presentation.
This presentation is an integral EBSB Camp and covers the historical, geographical, social and economic aspects and the modern development of their respective states.
This aids in fostering the feeling of nationalism and appreciating the cultural diversity.
