DDC Kishtwar reviews implementation of ‘Jal Jeevan Mission-Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’

KISHTWAR, NOV30: District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of "Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)-Har Ghar Nal Se Jal".
The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulic Circle Doda, Naresh Kumar, TO Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Begh, AEE PHE Paddar Ashiq Hussian, AEE Chatroo Nasir Ahmed Malik, SO Planning, Ravi Kumar.
A threadbare discussions were held on various issues like, screening of all households who are unconnected with tap water at panchayts level, identification of completed and ongoing WSS which can be taken up on top priority for providing functional household tap water connection (FHTC) by retrofitting, identification of schemes with physical progress more than 50 per cent with no issue like land/forest/source, identification of schemes with physical progress less than 50 percent with resolved issues like land/forest/source etc.
DDC directed all the concerned to adhere the guidelines as envisaged under Jal Jeevan Mission Action Plan, besides directed the concerned authorities to ensure completion of screening of all households who are unconnected with tapped water at Panchayt level by ending December this year.
He further directed the concerned to prepare a DPR pertaining to already selected blocks viz Thakrie, Trigam and Drabshalla, under JJM by ending December 2019.For rest of all blocks, it was directed to prepare DPR and submit the same to Administrative Department PHE and a copy to the office of DDC before ending Jan. 2020, for further course of action.
He directed the concerned functionaries to conduct regular inspections of ongoing projects and submit progress report and photographs on daily basis. DDC stated that the Jal Jeevan Mission is aimed at providing 100 per cent tap water to all households, and it will also involve convergence of schemes to achieve its objectives of sustainable water supply management across the district.
DDC asked the SE PHE to circulate the guidelines and activities to be carried out under IEC at grass root level, so that the concept of the Mission could percolate at the grass root level.
