Jal Jiwan Mission Launched in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, DEC2: The prestigious Jal Jiwan Mission was launched in a function/meeting held today here, at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal, in presence of District Development Commis sioner Anantnag, Mr. Khalid Jahangir, in which Drinking Water Security Plan was also discussed. SE PHE Iftikhar Ahmad Wani, ACD, DPO, Xens of PHE Division Qazigund & Bijbehara along with AEEs & JEs, BDC Chairmen, Sarpanches & Panchas attended the function/meeting.
On the occasion the DDC Anantnag said that Jal Jiwan Mission is being launched to provide piped water to every household. He stressed upon the concerned officers & PRI functionaries to ensure proper survey for getting the exact data regarding the households without piped water and with piped water so that the registration under Jal Jiwan Mission is ensured with greater accuracy.
He also stressed to ensure that only those households are registered under Jal Jiwan Mission who are not getting piped water, so that a realistic plan is framed for successful operation of the said Mission in the district.
He added that all the functionaries including the PRIs & field staff of PHE must work in coordination with added zeal to collect the accurate baseline data for achieving the aim of the Mission. He further said that PRIs can play vital role in making this mission great success by coordinating and cooperating with PHE staff.
The DDC stressed upon the PHE Department to ensure the registration of un-registered water connections and collection of water fee without any further delay. He also stressed for completion of all the ongoing water supply schemes in the district within the stipulated time period, besides ensuring transparency in the exaction of all the schemes.
He further directed for embedding of pipes as mention in the DPRs and according to the standards SOPs.
In addition, PRIs put forward their valuable suggestions for making the Jal Jiwan Mission a great success and pledged to provide all possible support to the field functionaries of PHE for ensuring the registration of the deserving under said Mission.
