JKFFA remembers Subhas Chandra Bose on his 123rd birth anniversary

JAMMU, Jan 23: J&K Freedom Fighters' Association (JKFFA) on Thursday held a function at JMC Park Town Hall Jammu to remember Neta Ji Subhas Chander Bose on his 123rd Birth Anniversary.
On this occasion, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), was the Chief Guest and Advocate Purnima Sharma, Dy Mayor JMC was Guest of Honour.
Good numbers of Corporators and JMC staff members were also present to grace the occasion.
The function was organised by JKFFA Chairman Ved Gandotra and Vice Chairman Rajiv Mahajan, President R.C Puri, General Secretary Th. Karnail Chand besides executive members of association.
Speaking on the occasion, Chander Mohan Gupta said that Bose's famous slogan "You give me blood, I'll give you Freedom" has continued to inspire many even today.
Bose always believed that non-violence would never be sufficient to secure independence and advocated violent resistance.
On the outbreak of the world war, Bose protested against Viceroy's decision to declare war on India as he advocated mass campaign of civil disobedience. These were not ordinary words but these were words that energized an entire nation! With the call of "Give me your blood and I will give you freedom" one man challenged the might of an empire and inspired a nation to join hands to free itself from the shackles of Imperialism, Gupta added.
"When we remember the glorious history of India's freedom struggle, the name of Netaji Bose is marked in golden letters. His name is edged in the hearts and minds of every Indian. The nation remembers Subhas Babu as a brave soldier who devoted his entire life to his country, so that his fellow brothers and sisters breathe the air of freedom, liberty and dignity," he maintained.
Speaking on the occasion, Gandotra said, "I bow to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his Jayanti. He was a stalwart who committed himself towards ensuring India is free and leads a life of dignity. We must make serious endeavours to fulfilling his ideals and creating a strong India. Subhas Chandra Bose was a true nationalist, a defiant patriot and one of India's greatest freedom fighters. He will always be remembered for his role in building the Indian National Army."
Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose "ignited patriotism among the people and inspired them to sacrifice everything for the freedom of the motherland," Gandotra added.
Speaking on the occasion Rajiv Mahajan said that Netaji Subash Chandra Bose is "an icon of India's freedom movement."
He was a "fearless nationalist and hero of the masses." Bose's "valour, patriotism and leadership would always be an inspiration for generations to come.
Prominent were present on the occasion Gajan Singh Khalsa, Dr. Karan Gupta, Pritam Sharma, R.R Raina, Brij Mehra, K. L Verma, Vikas Devan, Ravinder Mittal and Gourav were also present on the occasion.
