Tribute paid to Frida Kahlo

JAMMU, FEB 22: Something is stunningly appealing about the woman whose love life's turbulence and pain added fuel to the fire called 'art'. The vernacular Mexican painter and her art work inspired artists from all over the world irrespective of time. Frida Kahlo's work is considered timeless and contemporary painters can't stop raving about the Mexican beauty's art. Singer Soumita Saha who is internationally famous for her work in EDM industry is a huge fan of Frida Kahlo. Soumita is internationally popular as a singer, but the lesser known fact about the power house of talent, is that she is a skilled painter. Her artwork gives her space in the league of most celebrated contemporary artists of India. She has so far prefered to remain opiniated about her obsession with Frida Kahlo, recently her painting ' Afflatus ' adorned the wall of a posh art gallery in the city of joy. "Afflatus" is a portrait of Frida that is a mixed media work. The face of the Mexican painter is painted in monochrome with word calligraphy format while background is painted with acrylic colors and shows prismic art form. The colors green and blood red used in the painting depicts paradox of Frida's life. The fan girl's tribute to Frida is praise worthy.
