Best known for her role in the movie Commando, former Miss India and Bollywood actress Pooja Chopra was in Lucknow some time back.
On her second visit to the city, Pooja shared, “Last winters I was filming in Lucknow for this romantic comedy called Babloo Bachelor which also stars Sharman Joshi. I had an amazing time here. I ate the delicious kebabs, the chaat and saw the parks.
Every day after pack-up, my team and I would go out and explore this beautiful city. We shopped so much. I took chikan suits for everybody at home; my mum, sister, niece, I even took a lot of kebabs back the day I was going.
This time too I’m taking kebabs and gajak back home with me.” Recalling one of the incidents from her last trip to the city, Pooja added, “I remember visiting the Bhool Bhullaiya and the guide telling me that I should be careful because people can get lost here.
I told him that I’ll easily manage and that he can let me be but eventually I got lost and needed someone to get me out of there. That was a memorable experience.”

Taking us back to her childhood, Pooja revealed that she was raised by a single mother.
According to Pooja, her father forced her mother to leave the house because he was unhappy with her having another girl child. her hero, who raised her and her elder sister all by herself.
Pooja says it was her mother, whom she calls her hero, who raised her and her elder sister all by herself.
Pooja said, “People go outside their houses to look for role models, I don’t. I have a hero in my house and that’s my mother.
I can’t even imagine coming close to what she is, not even an iota because she is a glaring example of strength and dignity, the way she has brought us up, didi and me both, single-handedly, all by herself, in a man’s world. Time and again I keep wondering that there’s so much I can learn from my mother even now. She’s all heart and a very simple lady.”
The beauty queen further added, “It wasn’t an easy childhood.
Right from school when everybody would wear new uniforms or have new books, we would use books and uniforms handed down to us by other kids. It’s okay though.
All the adversities only made us stronger ad look where we are today.” Pooja says it was her mother, who she calls her hero, who raised her and her elder sister all by herself.
