Interstate narco smuggler arrested, 1430 Kgs. poppy straw recovered

JAMMU, May 21: In stringent action against narco smuggling, team of P/S Jkajjar Kotli led by SDPO Nagrota, Mohan Sharma accompanied by SHO, Inspr. Rajesh Khajuria, apprehended drug peddler and seized 1430 Kgs. poppy straw from his illegal possession.
Police team of P/S Jhajjar Kotli during Naka duty at Suketar stopped one Truck bearing registration No. PB35N-9367 for checking. On seeing the Police, driver of the tried to flee away from the spot. He was chased and apprehended. During search of the vehicle, 1430Kgs. of poppy straw like substance was recovered. Driver was identified as Sanjeev Kumar S/O Tara Singh R/O Tajpur, Jallandhar-Punjab.
PS Jhajjar Kotli arrested the accused, seized narcotic and registered a case FIR No. 95/2020 under section 8/15/25 NDPS and started investigation into the case.
