Ensure relief package reaches timely to hit hard by Covid-19 lockdown: Bhalla to Govt

JAMMU, May 22: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Friday said India needs to take concrete action to curb terror attacks. He said such attacks can take place any time and emphasised that India should be prepared to face them.
He said that the security situation should be monitored and reviewed regularly at all levels and security agencies must work in close coordination to thwart the nefarious designs of Pakistan sponsored terrorists. Militant groups based in Pakistan have intensified their efforts to radicalise youths, who are targeting security forces and giving it a shape of civil resistance, he said.There should be close and effective coordination between intelligence and security agencies at the Centre and the states level.
He condemned Pakistan for the frequent ceasefire violations along the LoC and attack on our security forces and demanded that a befitting response be given to the neighbouring country.The repeated incidents of cross border shelling from Pakistan in different areas of Rajouri and Poonch is a cause for grave concern," he said."The cross border shelling has intensified in the past couple of weeks," he added.
He sought an effective and befitting response to Pakistan's mischief and foiling of all attempts of infiltration from across the border.He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for peace to the departed souls, he said as he prayed for early recovery of the injured. Border residents are fed up with the continuous firing and shelling and it would be in the best interest of the people if India answers Pakistan with its full might so that Pakistan does not dare to raise its head again," he said.
Meanwhile fulfilling duties and responsibilities of leader of poor and down-trodden in this hour of crisis, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Friday continued distributing Ration and other necessary items among needy and poor families of Gandhi Nagar Constituency at Govind Pura, Sekli Garh Kullian, Old Satwari, Amar Colony. Prominent among those who accompanied Bhalla include Block President Amrit Bali, Aman Bawa, Jatin Vashisht, Iqbal singh, Rakesh Bhagat, Rakesh Singh Gupta, Sandeep Dogra Sonu, Rishi Dutt, Dinesh Sharma Raja, Ashok Kumar, Vijay kumar, Joginder Pal, Rajinder Gupta, Santosh Gupta, Panch, Gandhi Singh, Karun Pachya, Roshan Choudhary, Ravi kumar,Banti Kumar,Raju Thappa, Bansi Lal, Lakshay Gupta, Akash Kumar, Pransimran Singh beside others.
Bhalla has urged the government to launch relief package to address the concerns of people from various walks of life who have been adversely affected by the lockdown enforced by the government to curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).He asked the government to come up with a special economic package for those who arrange their bread and butter through their daily wages, employees with low salary scale, other labourers, unemployed youths and students living in rent in, businessmen and entrepreneurs who have to manage bank instalments on a regular basis and working journalists affiliated to daily, weekly and other newspapers whose publishing houses have already shut down due to the lockdown amid COVID-19 outbreak fears.He also expressed his serious concerns over not having the availability of Personal Protective Equipment even in two month after the WHO advised the government to get ready against the coronavirus. "I'd like to strongly urge the government to make necessary arrangement of required PPE, test kits, isolation wards, and ventilators at the earliest."
