Softek sign’s MoU with dairy FPO’s for skill development

JAMMU, May 22: The Softek Institute for Information Technology (SIIT) today signed one Memorandum of understanding with J&K Dairy Farmer Producer Organi-zations (JKDFPOs) promoted by NABARD for skill development of Dairy workers and entrepreneurs who are members of various FPOs & Dairy Cooperatives in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion Ashaq Hussain Wani (CMD, Softek) said that Government is very keen to create skill dairy workers in UT of Jammu and Kashmir. National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under Ministry of Skill Develop-ment and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has already initiated process of skilling workers working in Food sector under RPL and PMKVY scheme for UT. He said that MOU with Dairy FPOs will help creating skilled and genuine dairy entrepreneur who can avail loans and grants given by the government in various schemes like current "Integrated Dairy Development Scheme" & "Dairy Entrepreneur Devel-opment schemes (DEDS).
Vikrant Dogra on behalf of FPOs narrated that Skill Development of the dairy work is pre-requisite for strengthening of Dairy infrastructure at grass root level. He said that all UT and centrally sponsored schemes in the past has partially reached to the genuine dairy workers and Dhoodhi Gujjars locally engaged in milk production. He said that with the help of softek and ICICI foundation, the dairy FPOs has already trained over 800 dairy workers in past financial year under various skill development schemes.
The dairy FPOs in collaboration with NABARD and allied banks had also conducted workshops where 100s of Milk producer members were provided awareness with regards to various funding and social security schemes of Government. The FPOs will create same level of awareness in days to come along with skill development and certification of dairy works and entrepreneurs so to contribute in best possible implementation of dairy development schemes with the help of current MOU.
The MOU as signed between Softek Institute for Information Technology (SIIT) and Koushal Jammu Milk Producers Co ltd (FPO), Nandpur Milk Producers Co ltd (FPO), Jammu Livestock and breeding Coop limited (Knowledge partner), FF Milk Producers And Processors Coop ltd (logistic partner), Kalakote Milk Producers Coop, Ganya-langar livestock and breeding milk producers coop, The Milk producers cooperative marketing and processing ltd, Shardha multipurpose education welfare society and JKDCUL.
