CJM Samba awards 1 years imprisonment in attack case

JAMMU, Jun 24: CJM Samba Ajay Kumar Gupta today awarded one and half years imprisonment and fine Rs 9000 in attack case to Kasturi Lai S/O Bua Ditta R/O Shadni Rakh Abtal Tehsil and District, Samba who was facing trial u/s 323/325 RPC.
The brief facts of the case are that on 19.7.2014 Mst. Sansaro Devi, the complainant along with her son Ashok Kumar in injured condition had given a report bearing report No.22 registered in daily diary of 19.7.2014 at 20:50 O'clock of Police Station, Ramgarh. In the report it was mentioned that Sansaro Devi W/O Dhana Ram R/O Shadani Teshil and District samba, the complainant today at 7/7:30 PM, had gone in her filed then Kasturi Lai S/O Babu ram R/O Shadni, Tehsil & District Samba on the basis of old enmity with respect to land started beating the complainant and abused her. After hearing noise some persons came on spot and saved the complainant from the clutches of the accused, & then accused ran away. Thus the case be registered against the accused.
CJM Samba Ajay Gupta after hearing APP Anil Saini for the UT whereas Adv Rajinder Bhagat for the accused person observed that accused is sentenced to imprisonment for a period of six months and a fine of Rs. 1000/- for an offence under section 323 RPC. The accused is further sentenced to impri-sonment for a period of one year and a fine of Rs. 4000/- for the offence under section 325 RPC. In default of payment of total fine of Rs.5000/-, the accused shall further undergo a simple imprisonment for a period of two month. Both the sentences imposed upon the accused shall run concurrently.
