Alleged construction of Educational Complex on 10 Kanals Forest Land by Ex-Minister

DB directs Div Com, PCCF to file status report and appear before Court

Jammu, Jul 24: In a petition filed by Advocate Ankur Sharma, seeking registration of FIR against Ex-BJP Cabinet Minister Abdul Gani Kohli and others in which petitioner highlighting encroachment of 10 Kanals Forest Land by Abdul GaniKohli Minister for Animal & Sheep Husbandry J&K Gove-rnment at Nowabad Sunjwan where the said Minister is stated to have raised a huge educational complex comprising of a B.Ed College, ETT College, B.N. Para Medical School, B.N. Public School, ATM and Branch of J&K Bank. A Division Bench of J&K High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Sanjay Dhar observed that pursuant to our order dated 20th February 2020, a status report dated 14th July 2020 has been filed by the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education.
DB further observed that no report has been filed by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu; Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and the Revenue Department. DB directed the Divisional Comm-issioner, Jammu as well as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests file compliance report before us within four weeks from today and also directed that the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu as well as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests shall remain present before us and join proceedings virtually on the next date of hearing. Meanwhile in much publicized Public Interest Litigation Roshni Lan Scam, Division Bench observed that this Court had directed compliance of the previous orders regarding publication of the list of beneficiaries by the Information Department which orders have been passed as back as March 2018. S. S. Nanda, Sr. AAG assures the Court that the publication as ordered will be positively done at the earliest. DB directed the Director Infor-mation to place a report of compliance of our orders before the next date of hearing.
