10+2 Contractual Lecturers highlight demands


JAMMU, Oct 28: A press conference was organized by All J&K 10+2 Contractual Lecturers forum under the chairmanship of Pankaj Sharma in order to get their long pending genuine demand fulfilled. They are agitating for their regularization since longtime. The forum has welcomed the decision taken by Lt. Governor to regularize the services of casual labours, daily wagers, REK and other contractual employees all over Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Mr. Sharma briefed the media that the process of academic arrangement in J&K started is 1998 to run the defunct schools due to shortage of staff. There was no regularization policy at that time. But in 2003 J&K government framed a policy by upgrading high schools to the level of higher secondaries school vide Govt. Order No.1301-Edu of 2003 dated 31-07-2003 after the financial aid by the Government of India. As per this policy lecturers were to be appointed on academic arrangement basis only for three years where after regularized.
