PHE employees hold protest highlight demands

JAMMU, Oct 28: The hundreds of permanent employees belonging to field and operational staff of PHE Department assembled under the banner of PHE Employees United Front in the office premises of Chief Engineer PHE Department Jammu on 28th of October of 2020 and held massive demonstration against the UT JK Govt. and the PHE Administrative Department which has miserably failed to solve the long pending burning issues of the PHE Daily Wagers those who are on strike for the last 32 days mainly for their regularization and disbursement of all their pending earn wages etc.
The similar demonstrations have been held in all the PHE Divisions in Jammu Province.
The speakers while addressing the gatherings have expressed that the daily wagers are their colleagues and accesses which are being done by the Govt. on them cannot be tolerated more, they reiterated that the demands of the daily wagers are genuine and UT Govt. must solve all the demands of the workers without any further delay. All the leaders of the front have said, that the tactical and moral support will continue to the striking workers till redressal of all the demands. They further added that the 80% work of the department is being done by the daily wagers and now due to strike whole burden has been shifted upon the shoulders of the permanent staff. The permanent employees are being forced to perform double shift duties and extra hour duties. They further expressed that rights of the permanent staff are being curbed also by the PHE Admin-istration. The demands of permanent staff are being ignored also such as all sorts of recoveries which are being done by the department in the name of SRO-149 and 59 be stopped, conducting of DPC Meetings on time so that the senior deserving employees be given functional promotions.
