ADGP Armed conducts darbar at Srinagar, Anantnag

Srinagar, Oct 28: A.K Choudhary-IPS, ADGP Armed J&K conducted darbar of JKAP-5th Bn. & IRP-6th Bn. jointly at Batmaloo Srinagar today.
The darbar was aimed to hear the grievances of jawans besides taking the stock of their welfare and functioning of the units. During darbar the officers and jawans of the units put forth their personal as well as collective problems one by one before the ADGP. The ADGP patiently listened to the grievances of jawans and officers and assured them that their problems falling within the competency of APHQ shall be examined at APHQ level itself and redressed on merit. The other issues shall however be taken up with PHQ for appropriate action-the ADGP added.
While addressing the officers and jawans on the occasion, the ADGP stressed upon them to promote police public relations and maintain discipline of highest order. Highlighting the necessity of remaining extra alert/vigilant and wearing proper anti-riot and BP gear while performing law & order duty, the ADGP stressed upon the supervisory officers at unit, coy as well as platoon level to exercise proper control upon the men under their command and ensure that nothing wrong is allowed to go unnoticed. The ADGP also advised the supervisory officers at all levels to patiently hear the grievances of their subordinates who soever approaches them for redressal of their grievances and take appropriate action on genuine grievances put-forth before them by their subordinates. The ADGP advised the Commandants and Coy-Commanders that in no case they should deny the subordinates to grant permission for appearing before senior officers for redressal of their grievances adding that giving a chance to a subordinate for expressing his grievances before senior officer extends him solace and boost his morale for better performance in the force. The ADGP also apprised the officers and men about the new policy to be introduced by the Govt. regarding reviewing performance of work of Govt. employees and advised them to work with dedication, sincerity and honesty at all level.
Highlighting the welfare measures being taken by the PHQ for its officers and jawans, the ADGP said that the promotion of eligible officers and men commensurate to the vacancies are being made continuously by the Armed Police Head-quarters. He laid emphasis on the prevailing security scenario and need for exercising extra alertness on the part of police personnel on their respective assignments. The ADGP stressed for ensuring round the clock foolproof security of the Unit/ Coy Hqrs. besides Family quarters located in the premises of the unit complex.
The ADGP stressed for maintaining social distance, wearing mask and washing hands frequently in order to contain spread of Corona Virus. He advised the unit personnel to be health conscious. The ADGP said to the jawans to maintain proper hygiene and keep themselves physically fit by doing the P.T, Games, Yoga and Static exercises/walk besides taking utmost care of the quality of food they take. The ADGP advised the concerned Commandants & Coy-Commanders to provided quality food to the jawans and ensure that proper hygiene is maintained in and around the unit as well as coy level messes/canteens.
