J&K records 551 fresh cases, 11 more deaths

JAMMU, Oct 29: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 551 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday which took its virus count to 93,764, while 11 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,466, officials said. Of the fresh cases, 197 are from Jammu and 354 from the Kashmir valley, they said.
Srinagar district reported the highest number of new cases at 127, followed by 109 in Jammu district, according to the officials.
There are 6,928 active cases of the coronavirus disease (COVD-19), while 85,370 patients have recovered so far in Jammu and Kashmir, the officials said.
The union territory recorded 11 more deaths, four in Jammu and seven in Kashmir. With these, its death toll stands at 1,466, they said.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 93764 positive cases, 6928 are Active Positive, 85370 have recovered and 1466 have died; 491 in Jammu division and 975 in Kashmir division. The Bulletin further said that out of 2261736 test results available, 2167972 samples have been tested as negative till October 29, 2020.
Till date 654280 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 16591 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6928 in isolation and 45229 in home surveillance. Besides, 584066 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 19104 positive cases (including 127 cases reported today) with 1621 Active Positive, 17131 recovered (including 153 cases recovered today), 352 deaths; Baramulla has 5880 positive cases (including 85 cases reported today) with 1495 Active Positive, 4241 recovered (including 46 cases recovered today), 144 deaths; Pulwama reported 4628 positive cases (including 19 cases reported today) with 197 active positive cases, 4351 recovered (including 20 cases recovered today), 80 deaths; Kulgam has 2479 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 94 Active Positive, 2339 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today), 46 deaths; Shopian has 2188 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 88 Active Positive, 2065 recovered and 35 deaths; Anantnag district has 4212 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 243 Active Positive, 3895 recovered (including 31 cases recovered today), 74 deaths; Budgam has 5948 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 292 Active Positive and 5562 recovered (including 22 cases recovered today), 94 deaths; Kupwara has 4394 positive cases (including 44 cases reported today) with 417 Active Positive, 3905 recovered (including 22 cases recovered today), 72 deaths; Bandipora has 4017 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 226 Active Positive, 3745 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today), 46 deaths and Ganderbal has 3505 positive cases (including 21 cases reported today) with 207 active positive cases, 3266 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today) and 32 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 17349 positive cases (including 109 cases reported today) with 849 active positive cases, 16246 recoveries (including 120 cases recovered today), 254 deaths; Rajouri has 3185 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 70 active positive cases, 3068 recovered (including 18 cases recovered today), 47 deaths; Ramban has 1583 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 67 active positive, 1503 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today) and 13 deaths; Kathua has 2425 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today) with 56 Active positive, 2338 recovered (including 08 cases recovered today), 31 deaths; Udhampur has 2670 positive cases (including 21 cases reported today) with 110 active positive cases, 2528 recovered (including 15 cases reported today) and 32 deaths; Samba has 2162 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 258 Active Positive, 1879 recoveries (including 48 cases recovered today) and 25 deaths; Doda has 2640 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 133 active positive cases, 2462 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today), 45 deaths; Poonch has 2239 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 242 active positive, 1975 recoveries (including 15 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1266 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 111 active positive, 1147 recoveries and 08 deaths while Kishtwar has 1890 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 152 active positive cases and 1724 recoveries (including 29 cases recovered today) and 14 deaths.
According to the bulletin, of the total 93764 positive cases in J&K 9714 have been reported as travellers while 84050 as others. The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 1306 COVID dedicated beds, 1170 Isolation beds with 1069 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 105 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2345 COVID dedicated beds, 2197 Isolation beds where 1789 beds are vacant and 148 ICU beds where 127 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3651 COVID dedicated beds, 3367 Isolation beds with 2858 beds vacant and 284 ICU beds with 232 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
