J&KHCBA Jammu to hold elections in Mid March 21

JAMMU, Jan 12: The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, organized its Special General House meeting today in the open Lawn, near Flag Hoisting Site, High Court of J&K Janipur, Jammu, under the Chairmanship of Sh. Ved Raj Wazir, Sr Advocate, Chairman, Presidium, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, in which majority of the members including Senior Advocates and other worthy members participated .The members of Presidium JKHCBAJ namely S.D.S Saini, Adv. Former President, S. Surinder Singh Adv. Former President, M.K. Bhardwaj , Sr. Adv. Former President, Sunil Sethi, Sr. Adv. Former President, M.A. Goni, Sr. Adv. Former Advocate General, Radha Sharma, Advocate, Mandep Reen, Advocate & Pawan Manni, Adv. Member-Secretary Mr. Nitin Bakshi, President, YLA were also present in the meeting.
The meeting was convened to discuss the following agenda points :
Amendment of Constitution of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
Financial Power to Presidium to utilize ¼ of Bar Funds for providing financial Assistance to the needy members of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
Any other matter with permission of Chair.
All the members of the Presidium spoke on the agenda points in the meeting and have given their valuable suggestions for the betterment of the Bar Association and holding of Elections of the Bar Association and amendment of the Constitution of the Bar and also for release of the funds to the needy Advocates.
The members of the Presidium while speaking in the house have assured that the elections of the Bar shall be held in the mid of March, 2021.The House has also decided that only the practicing lawyers who are practicing at Jammu would be given the voting rights .
The members of the Presidium have been authorized by the General House to utilize 1/4th of Bar Funds for providing Financial Assistance to the needy members of the Bar Association.
The members of the Bar Association namely Jamel Ahmed Qazmi, M.U. Salaria, Surjit Singh Andotra, Abrar Ahmed Khan, Varun Kotwal and Nitin Bakshi, President, YLA expressed their views on the agenda points.
Ved Raj Wazir Sr. Adv & Chairman, Presidium, JKHCBAJ while speaking in the General House stated and made the house aware about the meeting held with the Chief Justice of High Court of J&K
All the members present in the General House meeting have observed two minutes silence in memory of the members of the Bar Association who have lost their lives during PANDAMIC and also held condolence for Advocate Jyoti Parkash Sharma, who died on 10th January, 2021.
The proceedings of the Special General House Meeting were conducted by Mr. Pawan Manni, Member Secretary- Presidium, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu. In the last all the members of the Bar was thanked by the Member-Secretary
