Pharmacist Association holds protest; highlight demands

JAMMU, Jan 15: Jammu and Kashmir Govt Pharmacist Association, Jammu held a peaceful protest demonstration to compel the Union Territory Govt to consider the demands of Jammu Kashmir Govt Pharmacist who felt aggrieved after the implementation of Central Pharmacy Act 1948.
Addressing the Govt Pharmacists gathering, Mr. Sushil Sudan President JKGP Association urged the UT Govt to grant registration to leftover Pharmacists under new central pharmacy Act1948 section 32-C which is implemented in UT after the revocation of article 370. The Association is striving hard to fight the Government to get the pharmacists registered in JK Pharmacy Council under section 32-C. He appealed to the UT Govt to resolve the issue and start the registration of pharmacists at the earliest. It is pertinent to mention here that even after three months since the J&K Pharmacy Council submitted a proposal for seeking an amendment in section 32-C of the Pharmacy Act 1948 entitling the leftover pharmacists to obtain registration under the Central Pharmacy Act 1948, there has been no response from administrative department till date and sitting over the proposal for registration by JK Pharmacy council.
The aggrieved Govt Pharmacists of the Jammu division were raising voices and protest demonstration at their District Headquarter with demanding that they be given justice failing which they will be forced to take extreme steps and authorities will be responsible for all consequences.
