FFMA protests in support of Dharmarth Trust employees

Demands CBI enquiry for all misdeeds of Dharmarth Trust

Jammu, Jan 16: Freedom Fighters Mem-orial Association (FFMA) on Saturday held a protest in support of the demands of Dharmarth Trust employees who are protesting for the last 48 days in support of their demand for constitution of public board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust or merged the same with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
FFMA members assembled at Dogra Shourya Sthal, Amphalla and raised slogans against the J&K administration for not resolving the issues of Dharmarth trust employees.
“This is the genuine and justified demand of employees," Rajiv Mahajan Vice Chairman FFMA told reporters. He urged Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha to bring an ordinance and remove the present structure of Dharmarth Trust and constitute new council by framing new law to run the trust affairs properly and protect the temples' property. He said that the Dharmarth Trust founded by great Maharaja Gulab Singh in the year 1846 for the upgradation of Sanatan Dharam and run the affairs of Hindu religious matters and which was the part of government department till 1947 up to the last ruler of the state Maharaja Hari Singh. He demanded from Lt. Governor to constitute an independent Commission to conduct an audit of all properties of temples under Dharmarth Trust within J&K and outside made by the person having control on it from 1947 to till date and bring it on white paper so that truth comes out.
Dr Karan Singh and his sons run the trust being as their private company and using its funds, machinery, employees for their personal/political benefits, he said adding that all the trustees join different political parties to use their influence and approach to sell and dispose off temples land and funds for their own benefits.
He said that open loot of sources and possessions of Raghunath Temple by Dharmath Trust has reached to such an extent that after selling of land belonging to different temples in J&K now has stolen some valuable books worth several crores. He demanded CBI enquiry for all the misdeeds of Dharmarth Trust. Others present in the protest include Ved Gandotra Chairman, R.C Puri President, Sukhminder Singh Maini Organiser, Parbhat Kapahi and others.
