J&K youth worst affected due to highest ever unemployment rate in country: Bhalla

JAMMU, Sep 17: On the call of Indian Youth Congress, J&K Youth Congress on Friday celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday as "National Unemployment Day", alleging that the Modi government had been "lying for the past seven years in the name of employment". J&K Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib and General Secretary Latish Sharma in presence of former Minister and Sr. Congress Leader Raman Bhalla celebrated National Unemployment Day at Bahu Fort by polishing shoes to express resentment over highest ever unemployment rate in J&K.
On this occasion, a signature compaign was also organized against huge unemployment rate in country.Prominent among those present on the occasion include Dewan Chand, Suresh Bangotra, Mulkh Raj, Rajeev Kashyap, Balwinder Singh, Balram Langhe, Chaman Lal, Kaka Kalsi, Manoj Thapa, Ballu Kalsi, Satish Kumar , Abhishek Kumar beside others.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that youth of the country is roaming unemployed on the streets today. The Modi government came to power by making big promises of giving 2 crore jobs per year, but today the central government is completely silent on the issue of employment.He said the government is "busy in its branding by spreading its false propaganda.
The unemployment rate in India has increased from July to August from 6.96% to 8.32%. The highest unemployment rate was recorded in May this year i.e 11.84%.Bhalla said lockdown saw a steep increase in unemployment rate. He also curated a list of gifts for Modi's friends including 400 Railway Stations , 150 Trains & Routes , 26,700 km of Highways , 2.86 lakh kms BSNL fibre , 31 Ports , 25 Airports , 2 Stadiums , IOC/HPCL/GAIL/NTPC assets Monetization of Cronies, Demonetization of Jobs for Youth.
Bhalla said that the unemployment rate in the country has increased from 2.4 per cent to 10.3 per cent in one year. "We see the common man struggling with inflation and central agencies following the BJP agenda," said the Congress leader. Jammu & Kashmir recorded the highest unemployment rate at the end of 2020, it was the worst year ever, in which the unemployment rate went up to 17.8 per cent. Jammu & Kashmir remained the worst affected during the period.
