National level campaign on Poshan Vatika and Tree plantation organized

JAMMU, Sept 18: National level campaign on Poshan Vatika and Tree plantation on the occasion of International Year of Millets 2023 was organized under the able leadership of Prof J P Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-J at KVK Jammu, R.S. Pura.
On this occasion, Chief Guest Prof J P Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-J connected online from SKUAST-K and explained the importance of millets in healthy food of human being. He stressed on the awareness programs on the use of millets in daily diets and development of affordable products with easy accessibility & better ass-imilation in human body.
He quoted the several examples of fortified varieties for adoption by the farmers and many products with enhanced nutritive value like multigrain breads, multigrain aata, sugar free biscuits etc. Prof S K Gupta Director Extension SKUAST-Jammu, Vidya Mottan, DDC Miran sahib, Dr Sonika Sudan BDO Arnia, S.Nirmal Singh, Manager, Kisan Call center, IFFCO presided over during the programmealong with more than 100 farmers and adolescent girls.
