204 new COVID-19 cases in J&K, no virus-related death

JAMMU, Sep 22: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded more than 200 fresh cases of coronavirus, the highest daily tally in more than two months, taking the total number of infected people to 3,28,418 while no fresh death due to the virus was reported from the Union Territory in the past 24 hours, officials said.
Out of the 204 fresh cases, 45 were from Jammu division and 159 from Kashmir division of the UT, the officials said. This was the biggest single day tally of fresh cases since July 16 when 221 cases were reported.
They said Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 80 cases followed by 28 cases each in Budgam and Reasi districts.
There are 1,536 active cases in the UT, while the number of recovered patients was 3,22,463, the officials said.
The death toll in the UT due to the pandemic was 4,419 as no fresh death was reported in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the officials said there were 46 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the UT as no fresh case was reported since Tuesday evening.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 328418 positive cases, 1536 are Active Positive, 322463 have recovered and 4419 have died; 2172 in Jammu division and 2247 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 14460335 test results available, 14131917 samples have been tested as negative till today.
Till date 3485882 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 8010 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1536 in isolation and 460978 in home surveillance. Besides, 3010939 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 73839 positive cases (including 80 cases reported today) with 787 Active Positive, 72214 recovered (including 61 cases recovered today), 838 deaths; Baramulla has 24201 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 133 Active Positive, 23786 recovered (including 13 cases recovered today), 282 deaths; Budgam reported 23509 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today) with 160 active positive cases, 23142 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today), 207 deaths; Pulwama has 15426 positive cases with 33 Active Positive, 15199 recovered and 194 deaths; Kupwara has 14330 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today), 32 Active Positive, 14132 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today) and 166 deaths; Anantnag district has 16505 positive cases with 20 Active Positive, 16280 recovered and 205 deaths; Bandipora has 9712 positive cases with 32 Active Positive, 9579 recoveries and 101 deaths; Ganderbal has 10260 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 71 Active Positive, 10110 recoveries and 79 deaths; Kulgam has 11472 positive cases 20 Active Positive, 11335 recoveries and 117 deaths while as Shopian has 5604 positive cases with 02 active positive cases, 5544 recoveries and 58 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 53125 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 57 active positive cases, 51925 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today), 1143 deaths; Udhampur has 11397 positive cases with 09 active positive cases, 11251 recoveries and 137 deaths; Rajouri has 11152 positive cases with 20 active positive, 10895 recoveries and 237 deaths; Doda has 7725 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 56 Active positive, 7536 recovered and 133 deaths; Kathua has 9289 positive cases with one active positive case, 9137 recovered and 151 deaths; Samba has 7146 positive cases with 07 active positive cases, 7019 recoveries and 120 deaths; Kishtwar has 4809 positive cases with 12 Active Positive, 4753 recoveries and 44 deaths; Poonch has 6342 positive cases with 06 active positive, 6239 recoveries and 97 deaths; Ramban has 6013 positive cases with 06 active positive cases, 5940 recoveries and 67 deaths while Reasi has 6562 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today) with 72 active positive cases, 6447 recoveries and 43 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 328418 positive cases in J&K, 23397 have been reported as travelers while 305021 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 2423 COVID dedicated beds, 2019 Isolation beds with 2008 vacant beds and 404 ICU beds where 397 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 3353 COVID dedicated beds, 3074 Isolation beds where 2995 beds are vacant and 279 ICU beds where 258 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 5776 COVID dedicated beds, 5093 Isolation beds with 5003 beds vacant and 683 ICU beds with 655 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
