J&K sees 3251 Covid cases, 4 deaths

JAMMU, Jan 15: On a day when J&K re-imposed a weekend lockdown, the Union Territory reported 3251 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths.
Of these new cases, 1129 were reported from Jammu region and 2122 from Kashmir Valley, official said on Saturday.
Jammu division and Kashmir valley recorded two deaths each since Friday evening.
Giving the district wise breakup of the new cases in Kashmir, the officials said Srinagar reported 624 cases, followed by Baramulla 471, Budgam 416, Pulwama 67, Kupwara 137, Anantnag 228, Bandipora 117, Ganderbal 21, Kulgam 37 and Shopian 4.
In Jammu division, the district of Jammu reported 685 cases, followed by Udhampur 125, Rajouri 34, Doda 24, Kathua 59, Samba 93, Kishtwar 29, Poonch 35, Ramban 3 and Reasi 42.
The health bulletin issued by the government said 390 Covid patients recovered, 239 from Jammu Division and 151 from Kashmir.
It said no new confirmed case of mucormycosis has been reported today.
"The last 24 hours saw a total of 72,989 Covid tests being conducted," it said.
J&K government on Saturday re-imposed weekend lockdown to contain the spread of the virus.
"There will be complete restriction on non-essential movement during weekends in the entire Jammu and Kashmir," an order issued by the State Executive Committee said.
The order said that night curfew shall continue to remain in force in all districts from 9 pm to 6 am with complete restriction on non-essential movement.
