Mayor kickstarts development work in ward no. 61

Jammu, Jan 18: Continuing his endeavour to provide best possible development & civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, the Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta along with Mohinder Kumar Bhagat councillor of ward no. 61 today kick started the much awaited construction work of deep drains & lanes at Om Nagar Udheywala area of ward no. 61.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that it was the long pending demands of the inhabitants of this locality as the lanes are very narrow & drains were damaged. Due to which during rainy season, the dirty water often overflows and enters the residential area causing great hardships for the locals as well as passersby to move in the area.
He further said after the sincere & hectic efforts of the councillor of the ward, this development work consisting of construction of adequate numbers of drains by covering it properly as well as construction of lanes by laying tiles & other allied works has been started today with an estimated cost of Rs 35 lacs only. He directed the concerned Engin-eers to keep strict vigil on this ongoing work on routine basis so that best quality & durable construction material can be applied accordingly and make it sure that the work may be completed within the stipulated time period.
Chand Ji Bhat President Displaced (Migrant) District, Shiban Pandita General Secretary & other Prominent inhabitants of the locality as well as concerned Engineers of the Division-III of JMC were accompanied the Mayor during the tour.
