BLSKS mounts special campaign on national “Non-Smoking Week”

JAMMU, Jan 18: To observe the National Non-Smoking Week & to promote the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan mount one week special campaign on program on National Non-Smoking Week (Drug Abuse) in close coordination with Directorate of Social welfare department Jammu & Kashmir Govt. , and Sangam Tru Art Production and presented 314th Tuesday Series Musical Play "Nasha Kola Bacho" during Quarantine Time at Rehersal hall , Durga Bhawan Janipur, Jammu to promote most effective measures to protect the masses especially the vulnerable population i.e. adolescents from getting exploited by the menace of Drug addiction and enable them to adopt safe and rational use of drugs by way of generating awareness through effective information and communication technologies. The Program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sh.V.K.Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
Among the Guest of Honors present were Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government, Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Health Department Jammu & R.P. Amla, Assisted the Play. The day commemorated as well with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional , Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular and Indian nation in general awareness items.
The Specially items prepared on the theme "Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio" , " Bacho Bacho Tobacoo Kola Bacho", "Nai Pee Shraban", "Bari Kharab Chutki" , "Nahin Piya Tobacco Balma" , Nukkad, Skits ,Songs and Dances were presented to aware the masses.
The Chief Guest Dr. Charak, said Drugs and Crime uses the commemorative day to highlight the dangers of drug use and their illegal trade and provides educational material to teachers and public officials all over the world to help spread the message about the extreme cultural and economic harm the trade in drugs is still doing across the globe and lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective.
The artist of BLSKS presented theme based songs which were written by Dr.M.L.Dogra &the music was the play assisted by M.C.Kotwal ,Gen Sect & were recorded and uploaded on social media for general public.During the campaign BLSk's will presents 7 programs in different Blocks of Jammu District & Kathua District. Awareness songs on covid 19jan - Jan Mara corona rog gi Jan & Do Gaj ki Duri bari zaroori" were also presented.
